An interior designer approached us to supply and install curtains and blinds throughout a North London home, with a brief focused on natural, sustainable fabrics. The project spanned living areas, bedrooms and bay windows, aiming for a cohesive, light-enhancing aesthetic that was as functional as it was elegant.
The Brief
The designer requested all curtains be made from natural materials, such as linen and cotton/linen blends, for a breathable, eco-friendly finish. In the bay windows, discreet recessed tracks were needed to keep clean, minimalist lines. Throughout, accurate installation depended on close collaboration with the builders, particularly for the custom bay windows and the extra support needed to stack curtains along a 10 metre track.
Design and Materials
High-quality linen and cotton/linen blends were chosen for the living areas and bedrooms, selected for their texture, natural drape and sustainable credentials. In the bay windows, hidden, recessed tracks created a seamless, floating curtain effect without compromising light or privacy.
For the kitchen and dining area, a 10 metre curtain track was installed to cover both doors and windows. The curtains stack neatly in the centre, keeping the kitchen prep area clear, while still allowing flexibility to close off different zones as needed, practical and clean at the same time.
